Always Keep The Gun Pointed In A Safe Direction Always Keep Your Finger Off The Trigger Until Ready To Shoot Always Keep The Gun Unloaded Until Ready To Use
Additional Firearm Safety Recommendations (NRA & Others): Treat every firearm as if it is loaded. Always confirm the firearm is unloaded by visually inspecting the chamber & action, even if you believe it to be empty. Keep the gun pointed in the safest possible direction, away from people and other potential targets. Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot. Keep your finger on the outside of the trigger guard until you have your sights on your intended target. Be sure of your target & what is beyond it. Know how to properly operate your gun & be sure the gun is safe to operate. Only use the correct ammunition for your gun. Wear eye and ear protection as appropriate. Never use alcohol, over-the-counter drugs or prescription drugs before or while shooting. Store guns so they are not accessible to unauthorized persons or children.
