One Piece or Two Piece Grips is a Frequently Asked Question.
It Can Also Be Confusing to Those New to the Terminology.
Two Piece Grips Have a Screw Hole, a Screw & a Nut & Escutcheon.
One Piece Grips Appear to Have 3 Pieces, When Being Purchased. No Screw Holes or Hardware & a Block for the Middle.
Once Assembled Properly, They Make a One Piece Grip.
Our Two Piece Grips Have a Spacer on the Back Side, to Index to the Backstrap, Already Glued On By Us.
The Built in Spacer Acts as the Locator.
If You Clean Your Firearm Frequently & You Don’t Want to Get Oils & Solvents on Your Grips, You Should Remove Them.
For Easy Maintenance, Two Piece Grips Can Be Removed Faster & Easier.
Take the Screw Out & Remove the Grips. Some Shooters Will Switch to Polymer Grips When It Is Raining.
To Remove a One Piece Grip, You Will Need to Remove the Two Screws on Either Side of the Hammer & the One at the Bottom of the Grip Frame.
Now the Backstrap & the Grip Can Be Removed.
If You Don’t Want to Remove a One Piece or Two Piece Grip for Gun Cleaning, Then Wrap It With a Cotton Cloth & Secure With Rubber Bands.
One Piece Grips Have a Smoother, Classier & More Expensive Look. A One Piece Grip Won’t Come Loose & You Can’t Lose the Screw.
Many Original Colt Firearms Were One Piece.
Also, Many Older Firearms or Colt Re-makes Have One Piece Grips, Like Pietta, Uberti, Colt Walker, Etc.
Two Piece Grips Can Make It a Little Easier to Inspect, Clean & Maintain Your Firearm.
Two Piece Grips Make It Easier to Switch Grips. You Can Crack or Damage Two Piece Grips by Over Tightening the Screw, So Tighten Gradually.
